so the term greenwashing met my vocabulary a few months ago.
The U.S.-based watchdog group CorpWatch defines greenwash as "the phenomena of socially and environmentally destructive corporations, attempting to preserve and expand their markets or power by posing as friends of the environment.
GE does a good job making you think they're pretty darn conscious. I honestly don't know much a bout them but spots like these:
...put you under the impression that they're doing their job at utilizing renewable energy sources. somehow, i feel misguided. more rersearch into GE i shall do, but for now...
"clean coal" ads come to mind that were placed among some of the presidential debates- similar to :
BUT
all in all, advertising and companies and even people tend to embellish to impress or make a sale. understandable. respectable? not 100% i know i don't like being lied to. but its a step in the right direction. they are aknowledging we, as world's inhabitants needs to change our daily impact.

Greenwashing is a gateway Drug
although i still am hesitant to say that its GOOD- i'm thinking it can be seen as a baby step in the right direction.
