    soliciting cleansing/detox tips...

Tuesday, May 6, 2008, 01:26 PM PST [General]

seems like the right place to ask.

I'm working on cutting down on the toxins going in my body, but there's a whole bunch that have been gathering in there throughout my partying years. So I'm asking for recommendations from you all on something gentle that won't make me sick when all the uck in my body comes out all at once. I know there's a lot of different ways out there, and I could just do the research myself, but I trust y'all more than the interweb.

thanks! from me and from my body!

You should try the master cleanse.. It might make you a bit sick at first, but it's not to bad, and after a couple of days you shouldn't feel queasy. Lindsey, Pat, and myself have done it. It's amazing what comes out.. well, I don't know if amazing is the word.. But you get the picture. Most cleanses/fasts recommend a minimum of 6 days, go for ten if you can do it.

I don't recommend just a fast though if your trying to truly detox.

meditate. and then meditate. watch a sunset. and dance at night :)
there was a foot-water ionizing machine that someone was demo-ing at earthday in topanga that pulled all the toxins from your body. seemed interesting and disgusting at the same time. from clear water foot bath to a nasty sludge. yuck AND yeah!?

Yes, there are some good detoxifiers on the market and anything to do with reducing stress is a huge help. Natural flush works as well: Eat fiber, fruit (the ole "apple a day" thing), drink lots of water. If you ate just fruit and veggies and grain, drank water for a week, with some exercise, you will detoxify.

Hey girlie.. I've done a similar cleanse to the "Master" Christie posted about, except not as hardcore. I've done the "Rise and Shine" cleanse. This lasts a week and you only eat fruits and vegetables and water. You start out with 5 servings (or 5 meals) of combinations of fruits and veggies the first day and eventually wittle it down to just 1 serving the last day of the cleanse. You must drink lots of water too. You will be amazed at what comes out of your body.. Try to ease back into your normal eating habits too..Like don't eat a steak-potato meal after your last cleansing day;)

Yes, the Master Cleanse is quite a journey. I have done it 2 times and both were very different experiences. But I do highly recommend it. Takes a lot of will power, but the results are energizing and amazing. I have the book if you're interested.
